Social media allows artists to show off their talent in various fields. The widespread usage of social media has helped many emerging talents come forth. It is also an excellent place for people to share funny content and memes they come across with.
“Yes, But” is a popular social media account where comic artist Anton Gudim shows off his talent while making people laugh. His comics describe the reality going around in the world with a dash of humor. His talent and relatable content have helped him gain many followers, and they are increasing daily. Let’s take a look at some of his most humorous comics.
Just the Package
A lot of people aspire to have a stylish or trendy wallet. They think a wallet from a well-known brand would catch everyone’s eye. There is no hard in wanting to show off the cash and cards in a wallet that has the LV or Gucci logo on the back.

The first side of the comic shows the fancy wallet and the other side shows the reality behind it. The wallet is empty, which shows the futility of having an expensive wallet if there is nothing to put inside it.
Go with the Flow
Some people prefer to follow the trend while others are trendsetters. One can assume that they can do something unique with their style to stand out among a crowd of people. The ‘unique’ style includes dying their hair with a funky color (i.e., pink, blue, and so on), getting tattoos, or getting piercings on different parts of the body.

But it does not work since so many other people have the same thought as them. Instead of standing out among a crowd, they blend in with others. This comic shows the situation perfectly.
Only in Movies
When a movie scene shows someone waking their partner up with breakfast in bed, almost every viewer would gush over the scene and consider replicating it. This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows the situation with its funny reality that most people might forget about at first.

Breakfast in bed sounds lovely on paper. But wherever food goes, crumbs follow. The movies only show the lovey-dovey eating breakfast in bed situation, and not the clean-up afterward. Unless someone is ready to deal with the crumbs in the bed, their breakfast should stay at the kitchen/dining table.
All That Glitters
Similar to the expensive wallet meme, this ‘Yes, but’ comic shows another situation when one messed up their priorities. When we see people talking on the phone, we only see the back. That is why a lot of people are concerned about their phone cases and are willing to pay a lot of money for a good case.

In this ‘Yes, but’ situation, someone has spent so much on their phone case that they do not have enough money to fix their actual phone screen. But hey! People will not see the cracked screen; they will only notice the fancy phone case.
The Sweet Spot
Parking skills are often more important than driving skills. There are gaming simulations for parking so people can hone their skills in their free time. Finding the perfect parking spot is often a challenge. But once the driver finds their spot, they should not celebrate too early.

The meme portrays the hilarious reality where the driver may pat themselves on the back for finding a sweet parking spot. But all comes crashing down when the passenger side of the door opens and a loud clang is heard from it banging against another car.
All About Perspective
Those with low self-esteem often find themselves taking a sad look in the mirror after seeing their favorite influencer posting a picture that shows off their perfect physique. But the truth is not what it seems.

Just before the shutter goes off, someone has the camera pointed at the ideal angle. We cannot tell from the picture whether they are holding their breath or not. This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows how another angle of the same person might have the belly fat they are trying to hide.
The Call of Disappointment
Social media is all about interacting with people and sharing content. We often make friends or acquaintances to chat with. When someone tags someone else on their post or comment, it usually means they are being summoned. People get excited at seeing a tag notification since it can mean someone wants to show them something fun or have shared memory together.

But the frustration shows up in the format of marketing when they realize it is just a spam post. Some pages randomly tag their followers to increase their post reach. Seeing their name tagged with so many others is certainly enough to dampen the mood.
Trade One for the Other
There was a time when we had to barely look for our phone chargers. The button phones like Nokia would last several days on a full battery. With technological advancements, we invented the smartphone, which is basically the computer in the palm of our hands.

But we also had to sacrifice the battery life that came with fewer features. Even the most advanced smartphones do not last more than a day with a full battery. We need to have the phone charger within reach since there is no telling when the ‘low battery’ signal will flash across the screen.
Health Conscious
Salad is not among the most loved dishes on the menu. People choose because they want to eat ‘healthy.’ But no one would eat a plain salad without any condiments. We cannot torture our taste buds that much.

Spices, mayonnaise, salad dressings, or oil for seasoning – we need one or the other to make the salad taste good. It does not matter whether it makes the whole purpose of eating healthy null or not. We only have one life, so let’s treat our taste buds as such.
Top Security
The latest suitcases have these fancy locks to keep our stuff inside more secure. The zip-lock security eases the user’s mind when they have to board a flight or train. They can part from their suitcases without worrying about the safety of their contents inside.

But there is the tiny issue of the other sides of the suitcase not being secured by the lock. Suitcases have zippers, and zippers are not that difficult to break. A fancy combination lock only appears like a top-class security element. In reality, it is nothing but a strategy to make the consumers pay something extra for the lock while buying a new suitcase.
From A Different Side
No one wants to spend hours on the phone waiting around for someone to answer them. It often happens when we are trying to connect with a service provider or a customer care center and they just say to hold on for a moment. People also get annoyed when someone does not answer their calls or reply to texts for hours on end.

But many of them do not realize it when they do the same thing to someone else. This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows on the side how the person is frustrated for having to wait around. On the other hand, they have several answered texts that are from people who probably feel just the same.
Real Age
In this next ‘Yes, but’ post, a cute photo of a girl is on one side. She is doing what we all probably love to do on our birthdays – bemoaning her adult age with some witty comments about just being 18 years old.

That would be nice and entertaining to come across. However, the other side of the post shows that the girl was born in 1992 (from her username). That implies she is just 30 years old! 30 years old and she is already starting to feel like an old person. Somebody needs to give this girl a wake-up call right now.
Right Place
This next post from ‘Yes, but’ is about suitcases. But we can decipher it as other metaphors in life as well. The first picture shows a suitcase with a set of round wheels so anyone can smoothly drag it across the ground. It is a satisfying thought until we move on to the next image.

The other picture shows a cobbled road which would be a nightmare to put the wheeled suitcase across. The same can be said for a set of stairs. We can apply it to other life lessons – something seems perfectly fine until the surroundings are changed.
Purrfect Place
Cats owners can instantly relate to this next post from ‘Yes, but.’ We all know how cats have their owners eating from their palms (or paws). Owners are often buying accessories and toys to entertain the cats. But their efforts seem to be futile at the cat’s initial reaction.

When we see a cat tree or a big scratching post, we think it would be perfect for our little furry friend. When the package arrives, we take out the ordered item and wait with bated breath to see how the cat would react to the new tree. But the cat would refuse to come out of the packaging box. It is at that moment that we contemplate our life choices.
On the Surface
This next post from ‘Yes, but’ is another good example of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ In the first picture, we see a guy who is wearing a full-sleeved jacket and a pair of pants. We can see his tattoos poking out from the exposed areas of his skin, like the throat and hands. The assumption is that he has tattoos all over his body, so they are visible from the only exposed parts of his clothes.

The second picture destroys the assumption when we see the guy in a pair of shorts. The tattoos only cover the visible parts of the body when he had other clothes on. This is an important lesson on ‘not what it appears to be.’
Draw the Line
This post is equal parts funny and true. Anyone who claims to love reading should take this up as a challenge. There are people who claim to love reading so much that they cannot go a day without reading a few pages from their book.

But we bet they would draw the line at reading the Terms and Conditions of any post or contract. If there is someone who does read the Terms and Conditions every time they come across one, we would gladly bow down and crown them as the “Royal Readers.”
Made in the USA
It should not come as a shock that a lot of the products we see on the market are not always made in the US. Tons of products are imported from other countries, and understandably so. We rarely take a look at the manufacturer tag and the manufacturing country before buying something.

Some products are just made better in other countries, so there is no harm in indulging in some trade. But when it is a national symbol, anyone would expect the product to be made in the country. The ‘Yes, but’ post shows the first picture of a beautiful snow globe with a miniature of the Statue of Liberty inside and ‘New York’ written at the bottom. But the second picture shows the reality where the tag says, ‘Made in China.’
Silver Lining
We can consider this post as another metaphor. The comic is funny on its own without the hidden message. The first picture shows a bald guy who looks sad among other men who have luscious locks. But the same guy is visibly happy when they are all in the pool, and he does not have to worry about his hair getting damp.

We can decipher this comic as seeing things in a positive light. Sometimes, things might seem glum from one angle. But that is until we consider a different perspective.
Bad Timing
This next post is another one that made us chuckle with the humorous images it brought up. Things in life are uncertain. We do not know what to expect after we have committed to a certain thing. In this case, the first picture shows a guy with bright-colored hair and piercings on his ear.
Image link

It just looks like a hippy guy until we move to the next picture, where he is attending a funeral. His hairstyle is evidently out of place among the black clothes and gloomy atmosphere.
Fade Away
Not all posts from ‘Yes, but’ are funny and quirky. This post is kind of sad if we look at it in a different way. The first picture shows a music studio with some musical instruments lying around the place. The second picture shows the computerized synth system used to create the sounds coming from different instruments.

Technology has made lives easier for so many people, but it is also taking away the authenticity from some things in our lives. When we are using technology to create instrumental sounds, the actual instruments are left neglected somewhere, collecting dust.
Do it Anyway
This is another instance we can relate to in life. People love Christmas and going through the traditions with their loved ones. Getting a Christmas tree, and putting the decorations in place – all of it seems meaningful at the moment.

But then Christmas Eve passes and we have to take it all down again. It is just for a short period of time and we put so much effort into the motions. If we think about why we should bother about doing it every year when we have to take it all down anyways, then there is no point in doing anything in life.
Just for Show
This next post would probably make some people angry when they realize they have faced it at least once in their lives. It is quite aggravating when a shop advertises a campaign or a giveaway for certain products but then blatantly fails to follow through on its commitment.

They probably believe the store just has more in the backroom. They can go get them at any time, so the consumer receives what they were promised. In most cases, the stores do not even bother. This makes one wonder whether they merely put up campaign signs or huge posters to draw customers.
Memory Test
Online login passwords are undeniably the misery of modern technology. Nowadays, we must log in and think of a password of some type before we can access anything. And the passwords often have a long list of requirements that we have to match to think up on the spot. So we cannot just put in our mother’s birthday and call it a day.

The second picture shows the reality that we barely remember most of the passwords we have to think of. So the next time we have to log in to the site, there is no other option but to click on ‘Forgot Password.’
Visible Confusion
We often look for online reviews before ordering anything. It is a good idea to read web evaluations of a company or product before we commit to spending money to buy something. We feel more assured after seeing positive reviews from other customers.

A 5-star rating is good unless the number of reviews reads ‘1’. That would put anyone in a dilemma. It is just one person who has vouched for the service of that particular company. Whether we can trust it or not depends on us and the level of risk, we are willing to take.
Ignoring it will not make it Go Away
It is a feeling of accomplishment when we can get rid of all those pesky random icons on our computer screens. We feel organized after putting all the icons in different categories. Using a theme or alphabetical order is a great way to organize the existing icons.

But it is hard to tell whether it is a smart way to clean up, or an excuse to avoid tidying up the mounds of junk on the computer desk itself. That mess is the one that will truly start stinking.
Old Habits Die Hard
For new drivers who are still learning how to drive, the rearview camera is the only form of reverse parking tool they are familiar with. However, the elderly folks recall the ancient days when we could just turn around and observe with our eyes for reverse parking.

But it is harder to shake old habits than it seems. Even with the rearview cameras installed, a lot of drivers just ignore it and turn back to look with their eyes. We are probably not reliant on advanced technology in every aspect just yet.
Money Cannot Buy it All
Some people, for a lot of reasons, strive towards the better things in life. There are individuals who just like spoiling themselves, but others believe they are valuable or remarkable because they have a lot of money.

This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows the reality that no matter how good a pen looks or how much money we can spend on it, there are some things we cannot change. We cannot buy a more fascinating moniker or personality.
Morning Run
It feels refreshing to go for a run every once in a while. Whether it is to burn some extra calories, or just to clear our thoughts, a good run is often beneficial. However, this ‘Yes, but’ comic shows the sad reality for people living in the city.

There is barely any park or jogging areas where someone can peacefully go for a run. Most of the time, we are stuck having to run on the cold, hard pavements of the streets. Instead of the fresh morning air, our nostrils have to endure the smell of traffic.
A Kid Being So Confused
If laughter is the best medicine, this brilliantly amusing split photo is your daily dose, if not the year! On the left, we find a vigilant father, quick to cover his young son’s eyes at the sight of a woman wearing a revealing shirt. With her belly and part of her hips on display, the woman seems to be just going about her day. The father’s face is a classic picture of surprise and urgency as if he’s just found a live dinosaur in the city park. The son, however, seems to be more puzzled than shocked, giving us the first inkling of the comedic twist to follow.

Now, prepare for a belly laugh as you look at the right side of the picture. Here, our seemingly modest father is parading down the street, his own shirt flung open, belly and pubic region for all to see. The lack of self-awareness here is hilariously palpable. The father, clearly indifferent to his own state of undress, marches on, son’s hand firmly in his. The son, on the other hand, stares at his father with wide-eyed incredulity, a living embodiment of ‘Do as I say, not as I do’.
Around the World
When someone has the money and the resources, they can just look at the world map and tick off places they want to visit. It is a dream to explore many countries where everything is different – people, culture, landscapes, and more.

But it is quite sad when someone has all the resources but lacks the insight to explore new things in life. This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows how a guy has traveled to many countries of the world. But he is doing the same thing in every country, which beats the purpose of exploring something new.
Not so Ideal
We all know about the cliché of the well-dressed executive who works hard and also loves to party all night. This appears to be a very luxurious way to live at times. Many people consider it to be the goal and fantasize about it.

But the reality is that it is not often so flashy or entertaining. Rather, it can be a rather depraved or destructive lifestyle of partying and drinking all night long. It can take a serious hit on someone’s health.
Cat Parents
It does not matter whether it is true or not, but the sentiment is what matters here. We are often elated after obtaining something, but we rarely think about how or from where we obtained it.

This ‘Yes, but’ meme shows how a boy is happy after getting a kitten for himself. But the next picture shows the kitten’s parents mourning their child. Cats may not remember their babies as the picture represents, but the thoughtful theme still remains.
Reality is often Disappointing
Many of us have experienced the thrill of following a wonderful recipe we came across in a cookbook or on the internet. We get too eager to recreate the recipe from the picture that just makes the mouth water. We expect to dazzle our friends and family with our culinary skills.

But after following the recipe, we end up with something that does not resemble the picture in any way, shape, or form. At that time, our only hope is that it should be edible.
Wrong Spot
It is so nice to be the only one waiting on the train platform. One simply can tell that they would be the first ones to board the train without much hassle. It makes them giddy just thinking about the freedom of choosing the best seat.

But then the train does arrive, and the person standing on their own realizes that they are standing at the wrong spot. Other people arrive, and they start to board the train, crushing their hope of getting a decent seat.
Not Enough
Some designer bags look cute because of their size even though they cost a fortune. When someone does buy one such bag on a whim, they do not think about the space. The only thought running through their head was how the designer bag would look in their hands and whether or not it would grab everyone’s attention.

The reality sets in when they try to use the bag in real life, and there is barely enough space for something other than a smartphone. But hey! If they are that rich, maybe they have a staff to carry their stuff around for them.
Aim Bigger
We often see how people may become infatuated with the type of automobile they drive. They want not just the latest and most dazzling model of a car, but they also want the most costly! It does not matter how much bank balance they would lose; buying an expensive car is their priority.

But the funny thing is, if someone just wants to show off their money, then it is better to just buy a crane. The big cranes that are used for construction and such are more expensive than any fancy car model.
Mystery Behind
There is nothing more satisfying than discovering a perfectly placed empty parking place. It is within the right distance someone needs to be. A closer spot means they would not have to walk as much in case it starts to rain.

It would be wise not to celebrate just after discovering one such parking spot. Because in most cases, a strangely pristine parking place indicates that it is located beneath an area where birds flock and take a dump.
Keep it Spotless
It is undeniable that investing a substantial amount of money in a car might feel like a significant landmark in life. It can also boost someone to a terrific status symbol. If someone owns a BMW (like in the ‘Yes, but’ post), a Porsche, or a similar manufacturer, they should pat themselves on the back.

But no matter how expensive it is, nothing will keep the car from getting dirty once it is on the road. More dirt would mean more annoyance for the owner. Their annoyance level will be signified according to the price of the car.
Servings per Person
It is quite inconvenient to open a food package and quickly take a peek at the nutritional counter. When we have a treat, we do not want to know how many calories it contains. It would do nothing but degrade the enjoyment.

But it’s much more problematic when we eventually discover we have consumed a human-sized portion. But there is nothing to worry about since it is normally around twenty times the suggested serving size (note the sarcasm!).
When Wrong Way is Trendy
Baseball caps are, without a doubt, one of the greatest and most inventive innovations of mankind. They are fashionable and trendy, plus they also shield the face from the harmful UV rays of the sun!

They would protect us from the sun if we took the liberty to wear them the “right” way. People wear baseball caps from back to front since it is “cooler.” But that just aligns with the fashion aspect of a baseball cap and not the sun-shielding.
Dead to the World
Everyone likes to make promises that they will be there for their loved ones no matter what happens. We say things like, “call me whenever you need me.” It makes the other person feel secure and special. But the truth is tested when reality sets in.

After going home and getting ready for bed, all promises seem bleak. The inviting bed is the only thought in our mind, and we cannot have anything interfering without sweet sleep time. So we just put our phones on silent and lose ourselves in the dream world. And if someone does call in the middle of the night and gets no response, we can deal with it in the morning.
Cycle of Life
Here we have another everlasting dilemma of the modern age! We want to download an app to assist us in cleaning out the memory on our smartphone, but there is not enough storage on the phone to go through the process.

We can hope that an app providing this type of service would anticipate this problem and provide a lower-storage option. That is obviously not the case. Such is life’s never-ending absurdity.
Modern Solutions
Finding practical storage options for the house or workplace is fantastic. Especially when we discover garbage cans that fit exactly underneath the countertops! It is a dream one can only hope will come true.

But these items constantly appear to just barely fit. The solution seems just out of reach. It seems to be a tight or trapped situation, even if those two items were purchased from the same vendor!
Good at the Job
When it comes to public services, one would think that they would be relatively informed or, at the very least proficient at the services they are giving out. When someone goes to a business that focuses on printing products, they would expect anything they print to be printed properly.

They would expect the ink to be visible, the texts to be clear, and the words to be decipherable. But alas! It is too much to ask for as they are stuck with blurry words or poorly printed ink.
Staying in Control
Any household of a grownup should include the following items – a drawer full of strange objects no one knows what to use for, an assortment of trail mix that no one bothered to open, and a collection of television remote controllers that no one knows the variation between.

Each remote appears to have distinct features, but only one or two. But, for some reason, we must carry all three on hand, just in case. It would make them lose their minds if they could not locate one remote.
Deal with It
Nothing beats being in the audience during a live performance and immersing themselves in the glamour of the art. People sing the lyrics of their favorite songs and jump around among the huge crowd.

But, let’s be honest, most of the time, we can hardly see the stage. People have to rely on the big screen to get a glimpse of their favorite artists. At that point, they think it is better to just save money for the ticket and watch the performance from the comfort of their home.
Eco Irony
This witty comic is a potent critique of environmentalism. The left panel shows an eco-friendly, reusable shopping bag, symbolizing a commitment to greener practices. However, the scene switches hilariously to the right, where the same bag bulges with plastic items, signifying our failure to fully commit to sustainable living.

The artist uses humor to question our efforts, turning a simple bag into a symbol of our complex relationship with the environment. It’s a funny yet impactful reminder of how our actions sometimes contradict our supposed beliefs.
The Sleeping Spectator
The artist employs irony in this comic to express the discrepancy between societal expectations and personal reality. On the left, a woman stands engrossed in a ballet performance, embodying a cultured, sophisticated persona. Yet, the right side amusingly turns the tables, depicting the same woman fast asleep with her mouth agape.

This humorous dichotomy paints a vivid picture of the lengths we go to conform to societal norms, often at the cost of personal comfort or enjoyment. The comic is a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek commentary on the gap between the public facade and private reality.
Ocean Views
This comic cleverly contrasts the romantic notion of ocean exploration with the less glamorous reality. The left panel shows a diver immersed in the ocean, surrounded by aquatic life, embodying the serenity and fascination of underwater exploration.

However, the right panel amusingly shatters this romantic view. The same diver is seen looking upwards at the unappealing view of swimmers’ legs from underwater. The stark contrast depicted through humor underscores the often overlooked aspects of specific experiences, reminding us that reality can usually differ from our expectations.
Beauty Standards
Through a clever play of scenes, the artist tackles the serious topic of gendered beauty standards. On the left, a woman holds up a paper sketching an idealized female figure with specific body measurements. This highlights the unrealistic and restrictive beauty norms women often face.

In contrast, the right panel features a sketch of a man with only his height listed. This comic, filled with sharp humor and poignant critique, illustrates the disproportionate pressure on women to conform to specific beauty standards compared to men.
World Tour?
The left panel beams with the excitement of a “World Tour” poster, promising a global musical extravaganza. However, the right panel hilariously deflates this anticipation. The US map showing the “world” tour consists only of two marked countries, revealing the deceptive use of hyperbolic language.

The artist’s choice of juxtaposition brings out the humor and irony in the situation, providing a subtle critique of the marketing tactics employed by the entertainment industry.
Nail Biting Irony
This comic insightfully contrasts societal norms with our natural behaviors. The left panel features a simple nail clipper, an essential tool signifying proper grooming habits. But the comic takes a humorous twist on the right, depicting a woman nervously biting her nails.

The contrast between the two scenarios is an intelligent commentary on how societal expectations often overlook natural human tendencies. The artist cleverly uses humor to highlight this common but often unnoticed dichotomy.
Seat of Vanity
The comic artist brilliantly turns a simple scene into a commentary on social media culture. A humble chair in the left panel contrasts with the right panel’s amusing depiction of a girl perched on a bathroom counter, attempting to capture the perfect selfie.

The comic humorously exposes the lengths we often go to for online validation. Through the juxtaposition, the artist satirizes the vanity and artifice inherent in our digital lives, providing a smart critique of the skewed reality of social media.
Feeding Irony
In this comic, a clever play on irony showcases our often contradictory health choices. The left panel portrays a person conscientiously serving healthy food to their dog, symbolizing responsible pet ownership. Yet the right panel humorously flips this scenario.

The same person is shown munching on junk food while the dog dines healthily. The comic cleverly highlights our inconsistent behaviors concerning health and well-being, often prioritizing our pets’ health while neglecting our own.
Hanger Duty
The comic artist uses humor to expose our unfulfilled fitness ambitions. On the left, a spinning bike sits ready for a workout, symbolizing our often lofty fitness goals. Yet, the comic takes a hilarious turn to the right. The same exercise bike is piled with clothes and stuff, relegated to a mere hanger.

This smart depiction of our fitness aspirations versus the reality served with a dose of humor, provides a lighthearted critique of our wavering commitment to physical health.
Injection Irony
This comic artist masterfully employs humor to reveal the contradictions in our personal health choices. On the left, a person vehemently refuses a vaccine injection, showcasing resistance to healthcare interventions. However, the scene amusingly changes on the right.

The same person readily accepts a cosmetic lip injection, oblivious to the irony. This amusing comic contrasts our acceptance of aesthetic procedures with our skepticism towards crucial health measures, providing a clever commentary on our contradictory health practices.
